We can all agree that our early 20s has been a learning experience. Many friendship issues, heartbreaks (at least thats what we thought), living life on the edge, figuring out who we are, what we like and do not like, etc.
Now, regardless of what we went through life is for us all to go through experiences that teach us the answers of who we are and shape our personality and what type of person we become. Here are 4 things I learned from my early twenties:
Master your current relationships: Our society focus so much on "not letting anyone play with you" that the focus has been taken off of maturing the current relationships that you do have. In my matured age I've learned, staying where you are loved, where it is fun, and free, is more important than the "miss one, next fifteen one coming" mindset. Some people, moments, and memories are not replaceable and cannot be mimicked. Stay where you are happy and focus on maturing and mastering the relationships that you have, because that is going to set the pace and the standard for all relationships to come.
Enjoy the small moments: Everything moves fast daily and we struggle to make time for ourselves. Personally I spent so much time completing one task and going straight to "what's next?", that I never got the opportunity to fully celebrate and enjoy many accomplishments and moments. So to you all...take a breath, enjoy those moments, and take the time to honor and celebrate yourself.
Be proud of your accomplishments: Many times people around us, will try to make us feel small or like you are aren't humble for being proud of yourself, and to that I say no one knew what it took for you to get to that point of success or complete that task. So do yourself a favor, don't listen to the outside noise. Have confidence in yourself and pop your sh*t sis!
Stay where you are happy: In our early twenties, we are so busy trying to navigate that we are trying all new things and experiences. Each experience will always be different and feel different. They may not all feel the best, and at times we may experience things that make us feel anxious, jittery, unsure, unhappy, etc. and if you get those feelings, that space and/or experience may not be the best for you. So always remember the simplicity through it all is to go where you feel happy and free to be yourself.
I hope you all enjoyed this article. Leave some comments on some things you have learned in your early twenties.
